KMART
Development of Knowledge
Management for Agricultural Research and Technologies (KMART) is an
architectural construct that addresses the growing need of knowledge and
information for heterogeneous data related to agriculture. Its core
function is to make decision support system for the research and
development. The design and construction of knowledge warehouse includes
granularity of data, partitioning of data, meta-data, integration of
heterogeneous data sets, and presentation of value added information to
different categories of users in desirable formats.
KMART provides systematic and periodic
information to research scientists, planners, decision makers and
developmental agencies. Information of various related sectors are
integrated and made available to the users in the form of decision
support system in which all the flexibilities of the presentation of
knowledge, its on-line analysis, including graphics is inbuilt. The
system also provides facility of spatial analysis of the data through
web using functionalities of Geographic Information System (GIS). The
Research gaps likely to
fill are:
v
A System for scientific & technical knowledge management of
agricultural research.
v
ICT based agricultural technological dissemination for
stakeholders in the field of agriculture.
v
Development of analytical tools, models and data mining
techniques for agricultural systems.
